Best Timber Homes of 2010

We're about to unveil the editors' picks of the Best Timber Homes of 2010. We've poured over hundreds — perhaps thousands — of photos of gorgeous timber homes that have come across our desks throughout the past year. The nine great timber frames we've chosen will be showcased in our special newsstand-only issue next month.

The homes range from rustic to ridiculously contemporary and from relatively modest to mega-luxurious. One thing is for sure: timber framers might not be building quite as many homes as three years ago, but they are building some absolutely drop-dead-gorgeous homes.
