My hybrid house was built very non-conventionally, to accommodate the glass and design. The windows are built into the traditional stick frame structure and the timbers are free standing from the glass.

My Timber Frame Contemporary Lake home.
After years and years of planning and dreaming, was able to build my TF home and moved in Jan. 2008. Its a narrow steep lot rising high above the lake, so I loaded it up with plenty of windows to the lake. Since the lot is narrow, and homes close, I only put windows up high on the sides to allow in the light. Great way to forget about the houses next door, and focus on the lake. Used reclaimed brick, and kept it more traditional industrial warehouse loft style Timber frame. Its still pretty eclectic ... more contemporary on the outside, and wide-ope on the inside. I still haven't furnished it the way I want ... but check it out anyway. Thanks for looking!
