I live in a small town in north central Wisconsin. I've been writing freelance from the age of 18. Most recently I had a small one-woman online magazine called HomeStyle where I wrote articles on kitchen and bath design, home design, products and some interior decorating. I now have a Architecture column at the Green Bay Examiner--not much of a job but hopefully will lead to better things. I went back to college a few years ago and majored in Residential Planning and now I'm about to start a Sales and Marketing Program at Northwest Technical College in Minnesota online.
My goal is to market, sell, and possibly help design, beautiful timber frame homes from my own model home. Although I can't offer building services, I think I have a lot to offer customers in the planning and design stages. I'd also like to sell products for my customer's new homes, as well as the general public, online. I hope to offer plumbing fixtures, flooring, tile, lighting, even cabinetry and appliances. And articles and design advice and assistance. One way I am able to promote my future dealership and website is with my writing. Also knowing quite a bit about interior decorating and staging helps a great deal when using a model home to it's best advantage.
One of my favorite things is 3D Design Software by Chief Architect. I love it. I've used Google Sketchup in school but I still prefer Chief Architect because it gives such life-like results and I prefer their walkthroughs. I just up graded, finally, to the Interior Design 10 Program and I'm thrilled with it because it's very close to the full fledged Professional Chief Architect. I've been in 7th Heaven all month.
I would love to connect with others who have dealerships or hope to have one. I'd like to learn from those who have experience they would like to share and who love design as much as I do. I would also like to have the opportunity to offer assistance to those who are planning and/or building timber frame homes with advice or ideas.
